My friend was picking up Crisco for…ya know …and that was all he was buying up so he got a cake mix too then headed to check out. He took it to the counter and,of course, the cake mix needed a price check. The cashier calls but no one is coming. Finally the checker went to get someone and he says he heard them laugh as they returned and say “he ain’t got no eggs, he ain’t got no milk. I don’t know who he think he fooling with that cake mix.” He checked out, called me, and we have been giggling ever since.

Lemme reblog again and let you know why casting that white woman as the female lead in “Drive” was so fucking wrong and fucked up.
Director literally gave her the part because she looked like someone he would want to protect (read: innocent, delicate, helpless).
These traits were ones he literally did not consider a Latina for. He picked her specifically because he fit that damsel in distress imagine that’s been coded as white (and what’s made women of color “unrapeable”).
I was sitting here thinking it’s SO weird that they left off Khan. It was pretty egregious. But if you go to the source then they DID mention Khan. I’m not sure why OP left him out but let me add him back in…..

Hmmm. I really want to give this person feedback on their story because there are really nice elements to it but at the same time their characterizations are a bit…off. It’s as if in an attempt to give everyone depth, the characters have all ended up so scattered and very far from their personalities. But it’s her first story. Sooooooo it always feels a bit weird to give any critiques to someone who is just starting out. My BF often says to just tell people what you think. People were merciless with him and that made him a better writer. But not everyone responds to criticism the same way sooooo. Hmm. Prolly won’t say anything. Which is suuuuper wrong. But also I don’t want to do anything to discourage the person from writing. Hmm diddly ummm…
