That symmetry in the frame, when he spreads his poor wings… It keeps reminding me of 9x14 Captives when Cas leaves Bartholomew’s office. There’s a door behind him with a painting on either side of it. To the left, the direction he chose in Captives (away from the bible or was it a cross?), there’s a green leather couch that breaks the symmetry.

Not so much meta, but… in the diner in 10x18 the seats in the booths appear to alternate between blue and green
There isn’t a clear shot of Cas’ seat but Metatron is sitting on a blue seat, so that means Cas’ should be green? Green for Earth?
I didn’t want to be the one to say it, but in my little shipper mind that green leather couch – or loveseat, rather, just big enough for two people – totally represents humanity. :)
Well, the Cupid is also sitting on a green seat, with two empty seats next to him…

I can’t make out any proper details, but it looks as if there are two figures in the left hand painting (possibly three), and on the right it shows a man reading a book by four candles (can’t make out the words though).
I was curious after reading all this and took another look at that shot. The picture on the right hand side appears to be this poster:
I couldn’t identify the image on his other side, but it looks like a black and white photo? I see bookshelves in the background plus what appears to be people next to a circular table.
