So, to clear up any confusion here is the story of those striped mugs that turn up pretty much everywhere in the Sherlock fandom. Back in July 2011 we were lucky enough to visit the set of Sherlock Series 2 whilst they were filming The Reichenbach Fall. Whilst on set a selection of photographs were taken and posted on the owner of Wear Sherlock’s (personal) blog and they were quickly spread around. But none as much as the grainy photographs taken gone midnight of two innocent striped mugs labelled with sticky tape so that Cumberbatch and Freeman didn’t forget which was theirs. Shame they couldn’t actually drink any of it, seeing as they were handcuffed together..
We’d happily recreate both of these silly mugs for our upcoming mug store if people would like to own one as to be honest we find it hard to say no to you guys. But just how will you explain to your friends/family that you have a mug with somebody else’s name on? We’ll leave that up to you ;)
