I figured out how to download fics from AO3 to my phone. I hit “download" and picked html. It took fifteen seconds to download 127,000 words. I go to files, then downloads, and look: there it is. By title and everything.

Why did it take me so long to do this?! I’ve been dealing with my phone’s clunky browser every night to get to wherever I left off on Bel Canto. The html file shows me exactly where I left off reading, even.

Being able to read fics while away from the internet: FUCK. YES.

I use the ebooks so they all download into ibooks. So I have every ao3 fic I’ve ever read saved on my phone. It’s brilliant. You can bookmark and go back to your favorite parts whenever you want to re-read the story. You never lose your fics. They are there forever. I love it.

I have an older Android phone, so I don’t think I could use ibooks on it.

I honestly prefer reading fics on my laptop (with its nice big screen), but the phone is for away from home or while in bed. I’m not sure my phone has the room for ALL the fics I read! Yikes!

And I picked the html format because I have no idea what my phone supports. I can use the html files without having to download an e-reader, so unless there’s a compelling reason to do otherwise, I’ll probably just keep doing that.

Ahh okay. I don’t know why I go around assuming everyone has the same phone. Yeah I prefer to read them on my ipad except at night and there is where we find the phone usage but yeah *cough* I have um yeah about a um *cough* thousand or so on there…I keep waiting for my phone to say “look lady you don’t need to keep EVERY fanfic you read aiiiight?"
