Hi, this may ramble… And I don’t want to put this out here but then again obviously I do.
Hi, My name is April and I live in The United States of America. And I love my country. I love it a lot. I’m also a registered independent. I believe that no one party has all the answers. I also am a Christian. I’m a Southerner by birth. I’m currently a Northerner by choice. I’m a gun owner. I’m pro-choice. I’m a female.
That’s all my identifiers for the most part. I think that’s all the boxes I check really. There are others but then it gets into the murky double, triple box areas.
I voted for Barack Obama today (well early) because I love my country a lot. If Barack Obama isn’t re-elected then it means that our country is going backwards and it kills me to think about.
I was going to write a much longer post but that’s really it. If we elect Mitt Romney then we’re not thinking about our future. We’re not thinking about the other people in the country or world. We’re just being complete morons and….I just am so sad to think what it could mean for us.
I’m not terribly young so I know enough to know America will most likely continue to exist even if Romney is elected. We got through 8 years of George W. Bush and we’d get through 8 of Romney but if we elect Romney it sends this message throughout all time that a progressive president had no place in our country. And it genuinely frightens me to think what it means for the future of our great country.
The evolution of our citizens is at stake and I’m afraid. Honestly I’ve prayed that God ensure we don’t do something stupid today. It’s not really his thing though…free will n all that but dammit that’s how much I’m worried that I want God to break a big fuckin’ rule.
I just love my country so much and this is a defining moment. I really don’t want the definition to be “Mostly stupid”.

"I don't vote! They're the same party!"
Romney and Obama are incredibly similar re corporatism and foreign policy. They just are.
However.
Thinking that these differences:
- gay marriage support
- abortion
- contraception
- don’t ask, don’t tell
are somehow nonissues is privilege.
I would love to be voting Green or Justice in this election but the fact is the GOP wants the government to tell me what to do with my body. And that’s worth voting against them.
My bodily autonomy is not a fucking secondary political issue.

This situation was directly affected by a video posted to Reddit— which had initially pinpointed it as fraud. It appears to have been a mis-calibrated machine. Anyone else see stories like this today in their neck of the woods?
