My ex-company once did a loan for this famous musician’s kid. The kid had shit credit. He had a trust fund that he ran through the money on. He didn’t deserve the loan at all. We wouldn’t approve the loan or the amount normally. We ended up making a shit load of exceptions to approve the loan. Honestly it always bugged me. And I even said, “why are we doing this? It’s not like his dad is gonna go on tour and mention us for free publicity. This is dumb.” But we still did the loan and everyone in the office and two seniors were happy to sign off on it. “Is that famous musicians kids loan?” They’d ask as they approved his ridiculous loan. It’s kinda nuts how society is happy to give so much more to people who already have way too much.
